Very correct REAL 242 Code 1966 Pontiac GTO convertible in great condition. Authentic GTO convertibles are hard to find as not that many were produced compared to hardtops (12,798 convertibles versus 73,785 hard tops in '66). This car is finished in its original and rare color combination of Charcoal Blue (Code B) with white convertible top (Code 1) and Parchment Interior (Code 242). We really like this color combination, the white interior contrasts well against the dark blue exterior paint and gives this car a classic look and unique look. Sorry, but sometimes we just get tired of seeing red and black cars with black interiors! This is a very good car that was ground-up restored in 1995 and has been well kept and taken care of since. The undercarriage and frame are extremely solid and have no rust issues whatsoever. The paint was re-done again in 2005 and has a nice, period correct finish. The interior of this car is 90% original and is still in fantastic condition. Careful observers will notice this car has the rare option of factory power windows which we think just adds to the cool factor, especially on a muscle-car like the GTO! This is also a factory AC car that's been converted to R134 and the AC is blowing cold-no worries there. A Pontiac aftermarket AM/FM Cassette player has been installed in the stock radio location but the original AM radio is boxed up and in the trunk. The power convertible top is fully functional and operates excellent. A parchment convertible top boot is included in the sale as well. Under hood is a rebuilt NOM 389 V8 that is mostly stock with the exception of a Holley 4 bbl carburetor sitting on top. A spare, rebuilt Carter carburetor is in the trunk if the next owner wants to change it out. We also have the factory-style air cleaner in the trunk if you want a more correct look under hood. This is a YS code automatic 389 and the date code indicates it to be a 1966 block. The automatic transmission shifts great and was fully rebuilt just |
