Have you ever wanted one of those cars that no one else has? Ever wanted to drive around town and say “Hey, look at me”!? Now is your chance! This one will do it for you! Only 1,778 of these Chevrolet SS427s were ever built by Chevy in 1968 and who knows how many of them were 4 speeds like this one, which makes this one even more rare! Chances are, there aren’t too many of them left on the roads of America. Rare? You bet it is! This is not your father’s Impala! Or, maybe it was! Restored from the ground up, body off, this numbers matching SS427 four speed stick shift commands the muscle car road with an L-36, 385 horsepower Big Block chromed correctly with valve covers, air cleaner, and oil filler and the correctly matched body color gill louvers in the front quarter panels. Known as an Impala SS427, you wont find the Impala badge anywhere on the car. Just the correct SS427 early build foil emblems snuggled up to the front side markers. Sit down on the fully restored NOS interior bench seat and have a look around. The new headliner and door panels look like they just came off the assembly line. Grab a hold of the authentic Hurst shifter and feel the power emanate from the under power bulge on the original style hood accented by the correct chrome hood insert at the base of the windshield. From inside under the new vinyl top of this two door fastback, feel the security only given by one of the mightiest of muscle cars. The completely restored power brake system works flawlessly as does the new power steering. Although your “new” nearly forty year old SS427 is not 100% original, you will be more than pleased with how your new ride looks and how it turns heads as you cruise downtown for a frozen custard. Read more about this authentic American muscle car in the January 2007 issue of Hemmings Motor News and compare your new “baby” to the original. You wont be disappointed!
