Chrysler Cars: Chrysler Cordoba & Chrysler Lebaron
Chrysler Cars is an American multinational automobile manufacturing company which was initially organized as Chrysler Corporation in the year 1925. The company is located in Detroit, Auburn Hills, Michigan. The company ranks behind Daimler AG and ahead of BMW and is the third largest automobile manufacturer of Ford Motor Company, General Motors and Chrysler Group LLC in the world. Chrysler started offering vehicles with lifetime powertrain warranty in 2007 and this deal covered owners in United States, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico for 2009 models. The vehicles include diesel vehicles, certain fleet vehicles, hybrid stream components, SRT models, Ram chassis cab and Sprinter models.
Chrysler Cars was found in the year 1925, by Walter Chrysler, when Maxwell Motor Company was re-organized as Chrysler Corporation. The first automobile manufactured by Chrysler was in the year 1924 which was powered by six-cylinder engine. It featured some standard equipment like full pressure lubrication, oil filter, carburetor air filter and high compression engine. There were some additional features such as four-wheel mass produced hydraulic brakes and rubber mount engine for reducing vibration. In 1998, Chrysler and its subsidiaries entered into a partnership with Daimler Benz AG, German automobile manufacturer to form DaimlerChrysler AG. After the retirement of Bob Eaton, Chief Executive Officer of Chrysler, the company was renamed as DaimlerChrysler Motors Company LLC. Some of the marques of Chrysler are Ram, Global Electric Motorcars, Dodge and Jeep.
Chrysler Cars has a good reputation in the market for manufacturing of high performance and sport-oriented vehicles such as Chrysler Cordoba & Chrysler Lebaron.
Chrysler Cordoba is an intermediate personal luxury coupe which was manufactured and introduced by Chrysler Corporation in the year 1975. It was the first model of Chrysler especially for personal luxury market and the first branded automobile of Chrysler. This name was initially used in 1970s on special version of Chrysler Newport two-door hardtop. It is a limited edition luxury car which was designed and equipped with luxury features like wheel covers, side molding vinyl inserts and Cordoba Gold paint matching wheels. The Chrysler automobiles are always equipped with high-end features like matching vinyl roof cover, hood ornament with Aztec eagle and all-vinyl gold interior.
Chrysler Cordoba was powered by 6.2 liter dual-barrel-carburetor V8 engine which was good for producing 290 horsepower and was equipped with whitewall fiberglass belted tires, power steering and automatic transmission. The 5.9 liter V8 engine model was discontinued in 1979 with optional two engines: Slant-6 and 5.2 liter V8.
Chrysler Lebaron is one of the classic luxury cars manufactured and launched by Chrysler Company in 1930s which competed against other luxury rivals in the market called Packard and Lincoln. It was the lowest-priced model which was manufactured till 1995 which was available in five different cars: M-body midsize available as wagon, sedan and coupe; K-body compact available as convertible, coupe and sedan; H-body midsize available as GRS hatchback; J-body personal luxury available as convertible and coupe and AA-body midsize available as sedan only.
Chrysler Lebaron was powered by 2.2 liter inline four-cylinder engine which was good for producing 146 horsepower.
