Classic car auction under way at Fairgrounds
Lovers of classic car from over the country are now coming to Indy for 1 of world’s biggest auto auctions. It is Mecum auto auction @ State Fairgrounds, where above 2,000 classic cars will be made available, & the organizers say that value of the cars could be well above $60 million. The prices start from couple of thousand dollars and they go all the way up to 7 figures. This auction runs till Sunday. The tickets will cost you $15 at door. All these vehicles are on the display for public before the auction.
However, acres of the canopies set @ the Fairgrounds asks
one question: Will there be safety concern after findings regarding collapse of stage rigging in last summer @ Fairgrounds? State Fair Commission says that organizer, Mecum Auctions, is now in charge. Mecum says it used same vendor for all the events for above 20 years.
Rick Baldick from Mecum Auctions says that they are pretty experience and quite familiar with all the climates & weathers. Hence, they travel along with from one auction to the other auction. They are really confident about integrity of the tents even if there is any problem of foul weather.
