Historic Hearse for offered for sale by Nick Larkin
Barrett-Jackson Auctioneers will be selling the car at the Scottsdale, WestWorld, auction, at USA. This was the automobile which carried body of President to Air Force One after his assassination at Dallas on 22nd November in the year 1963. When JFK was dead, O’Neal Funeral Home was called upon for supplying the best casket that it had along with appropriate conveyance. Hearse then made a trip with the body of the President’s and First Lady from the Parkland Memorial Hospital to the Love Field, where the Air Force One was patiently waiting for transporting casket at Washington, DC.
Barrett-Jackson president Steve Davis said that everyone’s eyes were on that automobile and it was unforgettable day in the history of America. He also added that it is one of most historical and significant automobiles to be ever offered in auction for sale.
It is a model built in the year 1964 and hearse has chassis 64Z000050, with body #64001. The car was made by Miller-Meteor Company for displaying at National Funeral Home Directors Association Convention which took place at Dallas in October in the year 1963. O’Neal Funeral Home had retained this hearse till late 1960s where it was bought by Arrdeen Vaughan. He is largely believed to have been working at O’Neal Funeral Home. The car was owned by Vaughan more than 4 decades and then it was sold privately to the third and current owner. As early collector and hearse distributor Vaughan has been responsible for taking care of this awesome historical car.
Currently, Barrett-Jackson is accepting applications from bidders.
