Mazda Cars is a Japanese automobile manufacturer which was found in the year 1920 in Hiroshima, Japan as Toyo Cork Kogyo Company. Mazda has a good reputation in the market and is known for manufacturing affordable and thrilling performance cars. The first production vehicle manufactured by Mazda is three-wheeled truck which was built in 1931 and it was found by Jujiro Matsuda who choose the word “Mazda” as it is the name of Zoroastrian god of light and good. The first car manufactured by the Mazda was R360 Coupe which was the first passenger vehicle. In the year 1961, company entered into a partnership with Wankel and NSU for manufacturing and developing rotary engines which resulted as Mazda’s itself is the only manufacturer who provides three different engine configurations such as conventional rotary, diesel and gasoline piston.

In 60s, Mazda Cars launched a pickup called B Series 1500 and first rotary engine vehicle produced by the company was 110S Cosmo Sport. The company started selling cars in 1970 in United States and over the past few years, Mazda rolled out RX-2 which was powered by rotary engine and was America’s affordable and fun to drive cars. After sometime, company manufactured and launched other models such as RX7 sports car, RX-3 and RX-4. In 1979, 25 percent of shares of Mazda were purchased by Ford Motor Company. In 1990s, Mazda started winning races like Le Mans with their first production vehicle called 787B and it was the first Japanese automaker who won this prestigious race. In the new millennium, company retained its reputation in the market by investing in new development with impressive and excellent results.
