Rally of vintage cars mesmerizes Indians
There was a motorcade of yesteryear classic cars which was organized by transport department and district administration in Belgaum for the event of National Safety Week on Sunday. Both the car enthusiasts and onlookers were thrilled to watch the automobiles. Around 27 models of the vintage cars were included in the rally. The brightest point of this rally was red Impala Car which was made in year 1962. It was used by Bollywood actor, Amitabh Bachchan in his cult movie called ‘Don’. This car is presently owned by Sanjay Ghodavat, an industrialist based in Jaisingpur who brought the 1964 Minimoris model to this rally.

Both cars will be shown in 2 day vintage car expo which was held as part of safety week in this district. Prabhakar Kore, a member of Rajya Sabha, and Prakash Hukkeri, a Sadalaga-Chikkodi MLA also participated in the rally; they bought their Ford of 1934 and Cadillac of 1972 respectively. Rally which started in from the RTO office went back to the venue after it passed through central bus stand. It also covered old PB Road, SPM Road, Mahadwar Road, Goaves, Ist Railway Gate Millennium Garden, and the Gogte Circle. Car owners from Goa too came to this rally.
